Draft Minutes, 21 November 2000 Council Meeting

Gordon Colvin of DEC corrected the striped bass section on Page 6 of the draft minutes of the Council’s 21 November 2000 meeting. What was being reviewed at that time in DEC’s Albany office were not solely proposed regulations affecting striped bass harvests, but a more comprehensive set of changes to Part 40 of the marine fisheries regulations that covered a number of marine finfish species. Councilor Mason requested that his concluding sentence in the first paragraph of Page 7 of the minutes should read, "Instituting a trip limit would be better for both the fishermen and the resource." Major Richard Otterstedt of DEC’s Division of Law Enforcement requested several minor changes to the section of the minutes detailing new staffing assignments in the reorganized Bureau of Environmental Conservation Investigations. The minutes were unanimously accepted as corrected.
