Chairman Wise noted that Suffolk County had indicated that base funding for the County Marine Program would not be included in the upcoming County budget. Several Councilors commented on the value of this program. A motion was made that Chairman Wise write Suffolk County Executive Robert Gaffney and the Presiding Officer of the Suffolk County Legislature stating the Council’s strong opposition to the proposed removal of County support of this important program and urging that the funds be reinstated. The motion was unanimously adopted.
