Mr. Wise reminded the Council that, at its request, he had written to Suffolk County Executive Robert Gaffney and the Presiding Officer of the Suffolk County Legislature opposing the removal from the County operating budget of funding for the Suffolk County Cooperative Extension Marine Program. He has had no response from either individual and, as far as he knew, these monies have yet to be restored to the County budget. Mr. Emerson Hasbrouck of the County Marine Program, in attendance at the meeting, confirmed that this was still the situation.
