Mr. Wise reported that the joint DEC-Council Work Group on Commercial License Eligibility Issues and the Council Subcommittee on Marine Program Financing Needs had each met since the March 2002 Council meeting. At the License Eligibility Work Group meeting, the group developed a preliminary list of specific license eligibility issues to address and identified several additional individuals to invite onto the work group to ensure that its membership is broadly reflective of various groups/interests in the state’s commercial fishing industry. The Marine Program Financing Subcommittee also got off to a good start.
