Council Chairman William Wise opened the meeting at 2:10 pm. Councilor Davi asked that a brief discussion of the revised proposed Special Management Area (SMA) regulations be added to the agenda. Mr. Wise alerted the Council that, as most of the members have the capacity to receive and send email, he would henceforth be communicating information regarding the Council and its meetings with those members via email and he asked that these members be alert for such messages and their attachments. Those few members without email capability will receive Council info through the US mail and/or via facsimile. Mr. Wise acknowledged the presence at the meeting of Gerry Barnhart, Director of DEC's Division of Fish, Wildlife and Marine Resources. The draft minutes of the Council's 16 April 2002 meeting were approved as written.
