Chairman Wise and Mr. Colvin reminded the Council that the Department was still looking for comments and suggestions on “species of greatest conservation need” that would be the subject of special grants under new funding for fish and wildlife conservation in New York. Councilors had been sent a preliminary list of the species proposed by the Department for potential inclusion in this program. Comments on those species and nominations of additional species not on the preliminary list, will be accepted until 30 November 2002.
