Councilor McBride asked that the minutes reflect that, during the Council’s discussion of bill A1782/Thiele S841/LaValle, the Council had recommended the language of the bill be changed so that a charter boat or party boat captain who intentionally commits a violation of the ECL or its derivative regulations should be held accountable. Councilor Freierman commented on bill A3164/Thiele S1469/LaValle concerning clamming in the waters of Lake Montauk. She would like the minutes to reflect that clammers do not actually get out of their boat and intrude on people’s property. She liked the phrase “clamming over in their boat “ to best describe clammers work habits.
With these changes, the minutes were approved unanimously by a vote of 11 in favor; 0 opposed; 0 abstentions.
