Public Comment PeriodMr. Art Glowka questioned how the Council’s recent recommendation to DEC that it prohibit the retention of live blackfish on any recreational fishing boat will be handled by the Department. Mr. Gordon Colvin, head of DEC’s Bureau of Marine Resources, responded that the Council’s recommendation will be included in the next marine fishery rule-making proposal; work has yet to begin on drafting this proposal. An audience member requested that the topic of blackfish and black sea bass commercial trip limits be placed on the agenda for the January 2006 meeting of the Council.
