Chairman of this subcommittee, Councilor Joe McBride, asked that this item be deferred to the Council's September 2006 meeting, when, presumably, there will be a quorum of Councilors present. 

Mr. Pat Augustine wanted Mr. McBride to know that the New York Sea Grant Extension Program has recently completed a study on the economics of marine businesses in New York that might be important corollary information for the Council to consider as it debates and deals with this subcommittee's recommendations.  Chairman Wise will contact Sea Grant to get additional information and, if possible, copies of this study.

Councilor McBride hopes that all councilors make a sincere effort to attend September’s Council meeting.
