Offshore Wind Farm Proposal

Councilor Freierman reminded the Council and its audience of a public gathering scheduled for this evening at the White Cap Fish Market and Restaurant in Islip to discuss the “offshore industrial wind energy facility” proposed for installation in the Atlantic Ocean off Jones Beach State Park.  Tonight’s gathering will feature comments on the project from Long Island Traditions and Citizens Campaign for the Environment.  Ms. Freierman will attend this session because she is already on this part of the Island because of today's Council meeting.  She noted, however, that such important meetings, when scheduled in the middle of the week, in the evening are unlikely to draw many persons living on Long Island's East End.
