OpeningChairman Wise began the meeting at 2:10 p.m. This is the final meeting of the Council for the year 2007. Chairman Wise went over the meeting agenda and reminded the Council along with audience members of the seminar on LAPP's (Limited Access Privilege Programs) scheduled for 03 December 2007 here at the offices of the DEC. Invitations have already gone out. Chairman Wise informed the Council that, as it had requested at its last meeting, he had written to Governor Spitzer, Attorney General Cuomo and DEC Commissioner Grannis urging that New York State file suit against the National Marine Fisheries Service if the agency proposed 2008 recreational fluke regulations featuring a state-by-state, conservation equivalency approach as opposed to a single coastwide set of management measures. He distributed copies of said letters. Draft Minutes, 25 September 2007 Council Meeting Councilor Davi would like the section of the minutes titled “Fluke Management Subcommittee Report” to be re-titled "Recreational Fluke Management Subcommittee Report" to more accurately reflect this group's charge. With this change, the minutes were approved.
