Chairman William Wise opened the meeting at 1:00 p.m. He informed the Council that a quorum of members was not likely to be present at the meeting. After consulting with Mr. Gordon Colvin of NYSDEC, he had decided to nevertheless hold the meeting because it had already been postponed due to Hurricane Floyd and because the Council did not necessarily have to take a position at this time on any of the agenda items to be discussed. Mr. Wise reminded all in attendance that any last-minute cancellations or changes related to Council meetings are posted on the Council’s page on the website of the Marine Sciences Research Center, SUNY/Stony Brook: http://www.msrc.sunysb.edu/MRAC/.
