The R/V SHINNECOCK is designated as a Research Vessel by the U. S. Coast
Guard and designed for educational and marine research in the bays and
estuaries of Eastern Long Island.
The hull is composed
of an open platform deck, 34 ft. by 12-1/2 ft., (supported by 3 pontoons)
providing a very stable work platform. A
small, deck mounted davit is provided for lowering sampling devices.
