The following are the tentative agenda items for the 13 May 1999 meeting of the Marine Resources Advisory Council:
- marine fishery legislation (introduced after 15 April 1999 Council meeting)
- A.7934, Sweeney/Dinapoli, extends to 31 December 2002 DEC regulatory authority over blackfish (tautog)
- S.295, Johnson, specifies that shellfish cannot be taken between 1/2 hour after sunset to 1/2 hour before sunrise and provides for a 1-year minimum license revocation for certain violations of shellfish laws,
- S.5400, Marcellino, prohibits use of fish picks or any other device that causes unwarranted injury when culling or sorting fish
- S.5401, Marcellino, increases financial penalties for taking fish, shellfish, or crustacea in violation of certain provisions of the ECL
- S.5402, Marcellino, prohibits unauthorized disturbance of fishing nets or gear
- S.5430, Alesi, repeals certain sections of the tax law applied to purchase of diesel fuel by licensed commercial fishermen
- regulatory changes for several marine finfish species & crabs
- reports from the Councils By-catch Reduction and Gear Restriction Subcommittees
