Council Chairman Wise opened the meeting at 2:10 p.m., stating that the meeting would be largely devoted to review and discussion by the Council of legislative bills affecting marine fisheries currently pending before the New York State Legislature. Additional such bills introduced after the meeting will be taken up at the Council’s 16 May 2000 meeting. 11 Councilors were present at this meeting--5 recreational fishery representatives, 5 commercial fishery representatives, and the Council Chairman. The draft minutes of the Council’s 21 March 2000 meeting were unanimously approved with no changes.
