Mr. Colvin gave a status report on the emergency regulations on horseshoe crabs to come into compliance with the ASMFC horseshoe crab management plan. The emergency rule will be filed imminently with the Department of State, at which point it will become effective and the public comment period will begin. At the end of the public comment period, DEC will turn to the Council for its recommendations.
