Mr. Hector Jimenez, MSRC’s Assistant Dean, was recently appointed by Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy to the County’s Hispanic Advisory Board.  The Board advises Mr. Levy and his Office of Minority Affairs on mechanisms to improve cultural understanding between the County’s Hispanic community and various other ethnic groups in Suffolk County, the County government, and the Long Island community as a whole.  The Board also works to promote Hispanic business development in Suffolk County and to encourage greater civic participation by Hispanic people at all levels of government.  As Assistant Dean, Mr. Jimenez has prime responsibility for administering and managing the fiscal and personnel resources of the Marine Sciences Research Center.
