Postdoctoral Research Associate

Mass spectrometry of environmental endocrine disruptors.  NIEHS/EPA supported project to characterize the distributions and sources of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) in estuarine and riverine sediments.  Work will include LC-MS and GC-MS based method development and analysis of targeted classes of EDCs and chemical tracers of their sources, as well as involvement in toxicity-directed fractionation studies aimed at elucidating important estrogen and androgen agonists in sediment extracts.

A PhD in analytical chemistry, or a related field, is required, as well as meaningful experience with mass spectrometry-based detection of organic chemicals in environmental samples or complex biological matrices.  Experience with LC-MS is preferred, as HPC, HPLC-MS (time-of-flight, MS-MS), and CZE-MS will likely be utilized.  The project will be supervised by Bruce Brownawell (http://www.msrc.sunysb.edu/people/brownawell.htm) at the Marine Sciences Research Center at Stony Brook University.  Please send a CV and contact information for three references to:
