Biological Oceanographers
are interested in developing a better understanding of how living
things influence and are influenced by the structure and function
of marine systems. At Stony Brook, Biological Oceanographers and
Marine Biologists often collaborate closely with their colleagues
trained in the other oceanographic disciplines and with atmospheric
scientists as they study a variety of organisms including viruses,
bacteria, phytoplankton and zooplankton, benthic animals, and fish. |
